IBC Senior Leadership Team

Illinois Business Consulting is student led and student driven. Students apply for the leadership positions and are selected based on their prior IBC experience, work experience, project management skills, leadership capabilities and interpersonal communication skills. The Senior Leadership Team is responsible for running the consulting operation, staffing the projects and performing key marketing, operations and training activities. Student Senior Managers are responsible for ensuring the successful execution of the client projects under their supervision.

David Atkinson | dratkin2@illinois.edu, Student Director

Jacob Singleton | jsingl5@illinois.edu, Internal Manager

Jacob is a senior in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences studying economics and informatics. He joined IBC in spring 2016 and has held every position in IBC, both on client-facing and internal projects. On client-facing projects, Jacob has worked with companies ranging in size from Fortune 50 to startup nonprofit on market entry and growth projects. Internally, he has actively led the completion of more than two dozen initiatives through the Strategic Operations Team. Outside of IBC, Jacob has interned at State Farm for three years and has held various leadership positions within Illini Media Company.

Ananya Saxena | ananyas2@illinois.edu, Senior Manager

Ananya is a junior majoring in accountancy, information Systems, and marketing. She is originally from New Delhi, India, but was born and raised in Dubai, UAE. Having been a part of IBC since her freshman year, she has completed three projects with diverse clients based on market entry and feasibility, as well as human capital change management. In addition to IBC, Ananya is a part of Illinois Business Council where she has held various leadership roles and currently serves as the alumni coordinator. In summer 2017, she interned as a business analyst at a consulting start-up in Dubai called Konsalidon. In summer 2018, she interned as a sales analytics intern for Lenovo in Chicago. Ananya is interested in consulting and data analytics roles for future careers, and is looking forward to a fruitful semester in IBC.

Bala Chandrasekaran | bmchand2@illinois.edu, Senior Manager

Bala is a senior in the College of Engineering pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in electrical and computer engineering. He started IBC in the spring of 2016 and has served as a consultant, senior consultant, project manager, and now senior manager. His past projects include market expansion strategy, governance in the water utility industry, marketing campaigns for technology companies, and product entry into new markets. In the past, Bala has been lucky enough to spend time with great teams at Velocity Venture Capital as a VC analyst, Facebook as a software engineering intern, and most recently, Uber as a software and product intern. After graduation, he is interested in pursuing product management and venture.

Fan Yang | fanyang8@illinois.edu, Senior Manager

Fan is a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate in the College of Engineering, pursuing a degree in aerospace engineering with a research focus on nano-materials. He has been a member of IBC since fall 2017, being promoted from consultant to project manager to senior manager in only three semesters. His past projects focused on consumer preference research, marketing strategies, and feasibility assessment. Fan enjoys his work at IBC because of the impact that IBC students have on clients, as well as the growth he sees in himself and his teammates through the mutual interaction and help. Fan is pursuing a career in consulting and is looking forward to being a part of the Senior Leadership team this year.

Hunter Honeg | honeg2@illinois.edu, Senior Manager

Hunter is a senior in the Gies College of Business pursuing bachelor’s degrees in accounting and information systems. She joined IBC in fall 2016 where she was a consultant, project manager, and now a senior manager for her second semester. Hunter has prior experience working on market entry, feasibility study, logistics, and change management projects. In addition to IBC, she is involved with Phi Chi Theta, in the Business Honors program, and loves to travel abroad. Hunter worked for PwC as a management consulting intern in summer 2018 and was a marketing intern for John Deere the previous summer.

Mori Suzuki | msuzuki4@illinois.edu, Senior Manager

Mori is a senior in the College of Business, pursuing a dual degree in accounting and finance. He has been a member of IBC since the fall of 2016, working as a consultant for two semesters and a project manager for one semester before becoming a senior manager. His past projects have focused on market entry, nonprofit work, and feasibility. In his free time, he loves playing basketball, golf, and Super Smash Brothers. Mori interned at KPMG as a deal advisory intern last summer and at State Farm as a financial operations intern the summer before. He is looking forward to joining the Senior Leadership Team and making it an impactful year in IBC.

Sanjana Malireddy | sm6@illinois.edu, Senior Manager

Sanjana is a junior in the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences pursuing a bachelor's degree in economics with a minor in informatics. She joined IBC as a freshman in the fall of 2016 and served as a consultant for two semesters, aa project manager for two semesters, and now as a senior manager. Sanjana has worked on market entry analyses, feasibility studies, marketing projects, and more during her four semesters with IBC. In summer 2017, Sanjana interned at Oracle Corporation as a finance operations intern, and in summer 2018, she interned at Hilton Worldwide as a product management intern, focusing on innovation processes. Sanjana looks forward to another exciting semester with IBC this fall!

Sid Vashist | svashis2@illinois.edu, Senior Manager

Sid Vashist is a currently a senior in computer science and statistics and is originally from Princeton Junction, New Jersey. He joined IBC in the fall of 2016 and spent two semesters as a consultant and two semesters as a project manager before becoming a senior manager. His projects in the past have focused on marketing, R&D innovation management, and algorithmic automation. In the past, Sid has worked as an intern at 3M, John Deere, AbbVie, and most recently, at Microsoft during the 2018 summer as a program manager intern. He is pursuing a career in product management and is looking forward to a productive semester on IBC!

Sylvia Wang | swang243@illinois.edu, Senior Manager

Sylvia is a senior pursuing a dual degree in accountancy and finance with a minor in the Hoeft Technology & Management Program. She joined IBC in spring 2017 and has served as a consultant and a project manager for two semesters before becoming a senior manager. Her past projects focused on data analytics and market entry opportunities. Last summer, Sylvia was a risk assurance intern with PwC. She is pursuing a full-time career in consulting and is looking forward to a great year of being part of the Senior Leadership Team!

Varun Pitta | pitta2@illinois.edu, Senior Manager

Varun is a senior in the College of Engineering pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical and computer engineering, with a minor in the Hoeft Technology & Management Program. He joined IBC in fall 2016 as a consultant, senior consultant, project manager, and now a senior manager. His past projects include technology transformation, business plan synthesis, market entry strategy, and feasibility studies. In summer 2017, Varun worked at Capital One as a software engineering intern in fraud operations and spent this past summer at Goldman Sachs working as a quantitative research strat in credit risk.

William Reinhard | wdr2@illinois.edu, Senior Manager

William is a junior in the College of Engineering, studying electrical engineering with minors in business and East Asian languages and cultures. He joined IBC spring 2017, filling the roles of consultant, senior consultant, and project manager before becoming a senior manager. His past projects include market research, data analysis, and market entry strategy. In his free time, William enjoys playing basketball, watching The Office, and reading James Patterson books. Last summer, he interned at eMapgo, a Chinese mapping company for autonomous car applications, focusing in corporate strategy.
